Pastor Tony Liuzzo (Lead Pastor) - Genesis 1:1-3 & 26; 2:7; 3:8-9; 15:1-2; 17:1-5 & 16; 18:12; Matthew 20:8; Exodus 3:2-5 & 10-15; 6:2-6; Isaiah 9:6-7
The names of God that we have studied so far speak and explain the greatness of God. The next name of God describes our reaction to His greatness. It is more than acknowledging that we serve a great God, it is responding with submission to His authority and power.
We will go back to Genesis to discover the significance to the name, Adonai!
Bible study description:
Knowing someone's name is the very start of getting to know someone. It is what we use to call out to someone to get their attention. It is how we identify someone.
Our God has many names. Each name of God reveals to us His character, His nature, and His attributes. Knowing His names brings us into a deeper relationship with Him because it allows us to know Him on a deeper level.
When we know His names, we can then call out to Him using His names. There is a reason that our God has so many names...there is power in the name of our God! Do you know our God by His names?

Something that the world craves to have is peace. We desire to have that inward rest in our hearts. Paul explains to the church in I Corinthians why they were missing peace in their lives. They lived in a "do what you want" / "do what feels good" society and this mindset and lifestyle was creeping into the lives of God's people. This robs us of peace because it goes against God's way and God's plans. We will hit on some deep rooted spiritual issues that have overcome our world today. If you are looking for peace and true joy, then we have to confront some things that are robbing blind of God's blessings.

Do you ever get frustrated with the way people drive? It can be frustrating when people don't use their turning signals or they run a stop sign. Why does this bother us? Because when people do what feels right to them rather than what is right, bad things happen and people get hurt. This is what was happening in the city of Corinth. We are different because we stand on absolute truth!

We have a disagreement with someone and then we unfriend them on Facebook, we stop talking to them, or we avoid them. This might be normal for the world around us, but God has a different way for us to live.
In I Corinthians, we are taught to fight for unity! We fight against division. We deal with things that push us away from each other. This might not make sense to the world, but remember, we are DIFFERENT and different works!

Pastor Tony Liuzzo (Lead Pastor) - 1 Corinthians (2 Thessalonians 2:3; 1 Corinthians 1:1-5; 6:11 Romans 10:9 & 13; Matthew 7:21-23)
Most people strive to be normal. Our goal is to fit in, do what everyone else is doing, and be socially accepted. It is a natural desire to want to be normal. The truth is that most people that are striving for normal would admit that life is a constant struggle.
When Jesus came to earth, His mission was to show a way that wasn’t “normal,” but different...very different! His ways went against the grain of society and stood out amongst those striving to live normal lives. His ways work! His ways bring peace, unity, and life change.
It is time we strive to be like Jesus to be different…because normal isn’t working.
DIFFERENT: Because normal isn't working!"Are you different?"I. We are saved by JesusII. We are changed by Jesus
