REVIVE: Broken people seeking a faithful God — If God’s Against It, So Am I.
Sunday Feb 06, 2022
Sunday Feb 06, 2022
Pastor Chris Andrews (Discipleship + Missions Pastor) - Romans 6:1-23 (Romans 5:12 & 19-21; 6:1-6, 12-13 & 23; 12:2; James 1:15; John 10:10; Titus 2:11-15; Proverbs 4:23-24; 14:12; 28:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 2:9-12; Ephesians 5:1-14; 1 Corinthians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4; Galatians 5:16-26; 2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Can you feel it? Can you feel the spiritual condition of the world around us? To be honest, it is not just the condition of the world around us, but the condition of our own hearts. Is it possible that we could be so used to going through the motions of the Christian life that we have slowly adapted to a powerless and passionless life? Are we missing something? Could God be shaking us right now to awaken His people to the life, passion, and power that we were created to live out? What if we stopped, listened, and responded? This world might be in a mess right now, but God is not finished! We might be broken, but our God is still faithful! God greatly desires to REVIVE His people to the power and purpose that we were created to accomplish. Together, let’s take a journey to seek God and ask Him to Revive our hearts!
Listen to this message about the importance of making the decision, "If God's against it, so am I." The Bible describes sin as a force that brings death, sickness, broken relationships, and eternal consequences. In Romans chapter 6, the Apostle Paul addresses the church, by saying "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid." We praise God that Jesus came to save us from sin and all its negative effects in our lives but sometimes, we grow comfortable allowing things in our lives that God forbids and has set us free from. It's time to live in victory and see a path forward past our struggles with sin.
REVIVE: Broken people seeking a faithful GodIf God's Against It, So Am I.
I. God forbids continuing in sin, so should we.II. The Bible defines what sin is, not us. III. Spiritual revival and sinful living are incompatible.

God has given us His Spirit to indwell in our hearts. His Spirit guides, convicts, empowers and gives life. If we are not experiencing this today, then something is wrong! Could it be that we have quenched the Spirit of God and hindered what God wants us to do.
We need to revive our hearts and renew our relationship with God, but we must start with the right motive. We must seek to restore our relationship with God because we love Him. Do you love Him? Does your love for God show in your relationship with God? It truly is not about religion, but about a relationship with Him!
REVIVE: Broken people seeking a faithful GodWHY?
I. Because He loves usII. Because this is personal with GodIII. Because sin hinders our relationshipIV. Because it should matter to us

Can you feel it? Can you feel the spiritual condition of the world around us? To be honest, it is not just the condition of the world around us, but the condition of our own hearts. God greatly desires to REVIVE His people to the power and purpose that we were created to accomplish. Together, let’s take a journey to seek God and ask Him to Revive our hearts! The Spirit of God is God’s presence with us in our daily lives. It guides us, empowers us, leads us, and enables us to live our lives and accomplish the mission of God. We are lost and in trouble without the Spirit of God working in our daily lives! The Spirit of God is described as a fire. A fire holds power! A fire changes the atmosphere, affects it’s surroundings, and makes an impact. The Bible warns us not to “quench” the Spirit of God, or to “quench” the power of God. Without the power of the Spirit of God, we are broken. Have we done this? Have we “quenched” the power and leading of God? Could our spiritual condition that we all feel be self-inflicted?It’s time to ask some hard questions: Have we quenched the Spirit of God, and how do we revive what has been lost?

We love the song, Silent Night because it gives us a visual of the night that Jesus was born. But in true reality, Jesus was born into the mist of chaos and problems. This was no accident, because Jesus came to bring hope to a broken world. This is what we celebrate at Christmas. Those that came to worship Jesus discovered that he truly was the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and the true Prince of Peace.
