Knowing someone's name is the very start of getting to know someone. It is what we use to call out to someone to get their attention. It is how we identify someone.
Our God has many names. Each name of God reveals to us His character, His nature, and His attributes. Knowing His names brings us into a deeper relationship with Him because it allows us to know Him on a deeper level.
When we know His names, we can then call out to Him using His names. There is a reason that our God has so many names...there is power in the name of our God! Do you know our God by His names?

If God is part of something, it is going to grow in strength, passion, and purpose. When God created His creation in Genesis, He said, "it is good!" Everything that God made was good and should prosper. This is just as true with marriage. Marriage should not just exist, coast, or "be ok," they should thrive! Paul has addressed a number of issues in the church through the book of I Corinthians, now he speaks into marriage. You might be surprised to hear what Paul has to say about marriage.Christian marriages should be different...they should THRIVE!
DIFFERENT: Because normal isn't working!
We believe that marriages should thrive!
How marriages thrive:
I. Embrace God's design for marriage
A. embrace your different roles in marriage
B. embrace the value of your differences
C. embrace what it means to be "one flesh"
II. Meet each other's needs
III. Exercise the gift of intimacy

When we see the American flag displayed, we recognize it as a symbol of freedom. It represents America, our nation, our freedom, and the land that we love. When we go to the Olympics, every country proudly runs into the stadium waving their flag, as a way to announce which country they are representing. This concept is in scripture as well.
During a great war that God's people were facing, Moses declared the Lord was their banner! We serve, live, and fight under the banner of our great God! When Satan's army sees us coming, they know that they are not at war with us, but with the God that we all serve. Our God is Jehovah Nissi! He is our Banner!

Out of all names of God, one of our favorites is Jehovah Rapha...The God who Heals! Why does this name mean so much to us? Because we are all broken! Some need physical healing, maybe emotional healing, but for sure, we all need spiritual healing. This name means that God gives hope! This name means that God is hope! Have you experienced God as Jehovah Rapha? He is the God who heals!

I know this happens for a number of reasons, but we must acknowledge one of the obvious ones.Paul, in I Corinthians 5, explains how people take subtle steps, in their lives, that end up leading to major problems. Are we aware of this danger? Are we making this same mistake?Good news! Paul not only warns us, but teaches us how to make this right in our lives.

Missionary Edgar Feghaly (Middle East)
Take a listen to this Missions Update from Missionary Edgar Feghaly. Dr. Edgar Feghaly will share how God opened the Middle East before him.
Dr. Edgar Feghaly was saved in 1956 in Beirut, Lebanon, after hearing the Gospel through the efforts of American missionaries. He immediately began serving the Lord as a young person and was called to preach as a young adult. After a brief time in the United States for training, Dr. Feghaly returned to Lebanon with his wife Rosann, where they served the Lord throughout the Lebanese War.
As doors have opened across the Middle East and West Africa, the Lord has used Dr. Feghaly to plant churches in these Muslim regions. The Feghalys continue to train and labor alongside national pastors throughout the 10/40 window and are seeing the Lord work through their ministry in miraculous ways.

Pastor Tony Liuzzo (Lead Pastor) - Genesis 22 (Genesis 22:1-19; James 2:20-26; Hebrews 11:1-2 & 17-19; Joshua 3:15-16)
In Genesis 22, we learn another name of God that comes from a complicated situation. Abraham is instructed to do something that would take a huge step of faith.
It is easy to say that we have faith in God, but God calls us to take action steps of faith. Faith is more than words, it is acting out our trust in God. When we do, we will discover that God is Jehovah Jireh! God has already gone before us to provide! He will never let us down!

The names of God that we have studied so far speak and explain the greatness of God. The next name of God describes our reaction to His greatness. It is more than acknowledging that we serve a great God, it is responding with submission to His authority and power.
We will go back to Genesis to discover the significance to the name, Adonai!

Something that the world craves to have is peace. We desire to have that inward rest in our hearts. Paul explains to the church in I Corinthians why they were missing peace in their lives. They lived in a "do what you want" / "do what feels good" society and this mindset and lifestyle was creeping into the lives of God's people. This robs us of peace because it goes against God's way and God's plans. We will hit on some deep rooted spiritual issues that have overcome our world today. If you are looking for peace and true joy, then we have to confront some things that are robbing blind of God's blessings.

We can feel alone in life sometimes. We can feel overwhelmed with life, and yet, nobody even notices.
In Genesis 16 we learn about a name of God from an unexpected person. In her darkest time, she learned that God was El Roi: The God who sees! God is Elohim...He made everything. But God is also El Roi, the God that sees you in the midst of your darkest times.
